How to Prepare for Exam in Less Time?

I’m assuming your exam is in a few weeks or days. So in my writing, you will get exactly those points that you need.

The first thing is to free yourself from all distractions.

3 Types of Distractions for Exam

(1) Environmental Distractions: You should stop hanging out with friends during these testing times. If necessary, tell them nicely that – your exam is in a few days or weeks, so it is not possible to spend time with them. Rather it will be possible after the exam. They will help you by saying this.

(2) Digital distraction: Delete social media apps from mobile. Because social media destroys your focus. Avoid unnecessary messages and phone calls. Keep the mobile on silent while reading, change it if necessary. If family or loved ones have an urgent phone call, set aside a specific time for them and then call them in a task-batching manner. You can put it in productivity downtime when your focus is low or your body is weak.

(3) Emotional Distraction: Fear, worry, lack of confidence. Don’t be afraid of exams, rather embrace them gracefully. Exams are a way to reveal your talent. If you have studied little before, or none at all – don’t worry, because it will set you back rather than move you forward. It is better to think that – “My exam is coming, I have to be more serious about it.” Necessary planning should be done. And if you worry about them without thinking about them, reading will be useless. No planning will be possible. So you remove the worries from yourself and formulate a plan with a calm mind. Can I do well in the next test? Will I be able to write? You rather lack confidence by asking such questions. For this you need to be confident that you can do it, you need to practice everything before the exam. Therefore, increase self-confidence and self-reliance.

In the first step you benefit by removing the distraction –

(1) You can give full attention to the matter at hand.

(2) Your thoughts will now be united in one place.

(3) Can plan with a calm mind.

I hope you have been free of all distractions so far.

Planning

Next, you need to plan according to the exam deadline. You should see how much has been read, how much is left. For this, you first sit with the syllabus. If your time is limited then it may not be possible for you to complete all the topics from the syllabus. So you can collect previous years exam question bank. By analyzing it, you will understand that the most questions will come from any chapter. From here you will select some important chapters. Even then it may not be possible to finish the chapters selected for the exam. Reading a book or chapter line by line can be tedious and ineffective for you. So you list out the important topics of the chapter. This allows you to focus on them in the beginning. remember – “Any chapter having 20% topics can have 80% questions, and 80% topics can have 20% questions.” So in less time you focus on those 20% topics first.

Routine

Now you know what topics you should read first. Some topics will continue even if you don’t read them. Remember one thing – “Don’t try to get it all, you might miss out on what you get”. Now you are setting the deadline according to when the exam is. Read some topics sometime. In this way, write down the names of the topics along with dead on a paper. Make a routine so that you can make the most of every moment.

Whatever you do, don’t study for more than 90 minutes at most. It may stress you out.

Take breaks between readings. Drink water during breaks. Do some exercise or a walk. By doing this, your brain will be more active, you will feel better mentally.

How to Study?

At this stage you practice the topics over time in the exam format like an exam. After practice read the answers with explanation of the places where you got it wrong. While reading a topic, you can first speed read to see what is in that topic, then you can read it again to understand. After reading, check yourself again by taking the practice test. This will help you understand your weaknesses. Again, you will realize that you are getting very confused about some things.

Address The Weakness

Here you can practice repeatedly on your weakness topics. If your brain practices a difficult topic through repetition, it will eventually become perfect. And it will go from your weak point to strong point. You become better prepared for the exam by eliminating your weaknesses. now If you are given exam questions from this topic, you will be able to answer them easily. Because you have practiced it again and again. And you can revise the difficult subjects several times before and after sleeping. so that they move from your short-term memory to your long-term memory.

What not to do before the exam?

(1) One should not sleep awake at night. It will be bad for your health as well. This increases exam anxiety and depression. So you won’t wake up at night at all. This will do you more harm than good. By doing this you read and forget, read and forget. There will be pressure on the brain. So go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, avoiding night wakes altogether. Morning and night readings are very effective. Try to get your maximum output during these times.

(2) Avoid reading for several hours continuously and repeat with breaks.

What to do for the test?

(1) Revise the topics you know repeatedly to reduce your system loss. Otherwise read and forget. I can inform you now about the loss of non-revision. But don’t worry too much try to apply what I am saying. Now continue to apply what I am telling you. You can practice again and again in the exam format

(2) Do active recalling as much as possible.

For your convenience, I am repeating things to you again:

Step 0: Mindset –  Reading all the pages of the book will not help at this tragic moment.

Step 1: Collect all the question banks

Step 2: Practicing the final format of the exam.

Step 3: Evaluate yourself at the end of the exam and check the answers.

Step-4: Then answer the mistakes by closing the book.

Step 5: Repeat the process again.

You can prepare for the exam by adapting what I have said so far. Your learning style may be different. But keep doing what feels right to you. Many effective methods may not seem to improve at the beginning, but after a few weeks the improvement will be noticeable. And the harder the flame, the more improves.
